Tulsa Metro Sound

Tulsa Metro Sound Chorus is blessed to have an abundance of members with multiple talents to share. The Chapter uses three members with directing experience: Karen Phillips, Karen Martin, and Molly Clark.
Karen Phillips has been singing with Sweet Adelines since 1994. For several years she was singing with choruses in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Wichita, Kansas.  She has served in a variety of positions with Tulsa Metro Sound.  She also has held positions in Region 25 of SAI.  In 2014 she completed the SAI Directors Certification Program.

Karen Martin was introduced to barbershop harmony at age 15 by her school music teacher who was a Sweet Adeline.  Karen’s first chorus was the SAI Silverlake chorus in Bartlesville. She has sung with Tulsa Metro Sound for many years as well as the Sound of the Heartland Chorus in Wichita, Kansas, where she was a co-director. Karen has served in several TMS management positions over the years, including chorus director for several years.

Molly Clark first joined the Rio Hondo Chorus, Region 21 of Sweet Adelines, in California. After moving to Tulsa, she joined the Tulsa No.1 Chorus, Region 10, and more recently Tulsa Metro Sound.  Molly has held various positions in the chorus.  She began arranging barbershop music under the mentorship of Ruth Emley, Certified Arranger SAI and Jim Kahlke, BHS Arranger and Music Judge.  Over the years she has attended SAI sponsored arranger classes, clinics, and seminars.

Karen Phillips, Molly Clark, and Karen Martin continue to create a fun and educational environment for our singers! We learn a lot, we sing a lot, and we have a lot of fun!
